SOS Version 1.0
Friday, July 10, 2009 16:59I am proud to announce the release of my SOS Game version 1.0. This is the first “major” application I have done from start to finish on my own following some sort of software design. Typically I would just dive in and started coding my applications, but this time I started by coming up with an initial feature set, from that creating a UML diagram providing me with a high-level over view of what my program will look like, to coding. This led to the release of version 0.5, which still had some bugs in the underlying logic that I ironed out first thing before moving on to making the GUI more user friendly.
I am now releasing version 1.0 as my final fully implemented game of SOS. The only thing I haven’t been able to do with this one is include my logo, because I haven’t been able to come up with one – yet, that can represent both my software and website.
Download:
Windows (all): Game of SOS v1.0 (exe)
Linux (right click and open with Java): Game of SOS v1.0 (jar)
Mac users should be able to use the same as Linux.
Windows users can use the jar version too if they prefer. When downloading the jar version, make sure it has the extension .jar (ie: in windows may try to download as .zip, replace zip with jar).
Please feel free to come back and let me know what you think and any suggestions you have for potential enhancements, if you wish, through the suggestion box.
